Two in One Cake:
The next day I started with my second cake, it was for my friends two little boys. The elder one turned 5 and the little one turned 1. She insisted on Pixar car, as the elder one loves Pixar cars. And as her both boys birthday falls in the same week, she needed just one cake as they were celebrating both birthdays on the same day. Hence the name “ Two in one Cake”

My finale cake for the month of June, for a little princess who turned one. Her mom wished for a cake with little princess on the cake. As the theme of the party was Princess. The cake had to be princess. So we decided to bring all the princess to the party to wish the little princess cake and my friend her aunt came up with the beautiful idea of little Disney princesses on the cake.
This cake looks simple but has minute detailing work, This cake is a 10” round two layer cake. Made of Apple and Strawberry with butter cream filling covered with Pink fondant. It was the first time I tried Duff’s fondant. This fondant is very smooth to work with. Good to cover simple cakes but you need to work fast and very carefully. It is good for covering but not for modeling. Yum in taste
The end result was beautiful. I made small little balls to decorate around,
a Number 1 with a happy birthday start on it
, and Little name stars of the little princess.
The finale cake looked like this -
The Birthday Princess was all excited and happy when she saw this cake…
Little dreams came true

This was my first pixar car cake. For this we got a pixar car from the store, we kept this car as a model for our cake.
Seeing this we started our carving which was done by my sweet hubby designer, I dont know what I would do without him.. lucky me he loves to design
..and than covered it with chocolate butter cream icing. Also I got some good tips from a good friend blogger on how to design the pixar car – http://kitchenscrapbook.com/2009/07/23/lightning-mcqueen-birthday-cake/ .
It took us three hours to figure out the car layout and cover it with red satin ice fondant and set it.. Atlast the ending was sweet
Once the car was ready it was time to make the base ready , for which I baked 9”x13” rectangle chocolate cake covered with butter cream icing. Since it was one cake for two boys, I decided to put in the effect for the little one with some stars and hands
.
One side of the cake named the elder kid with number 5,
The other side named the younger kid with number 1
The final output was awesome, it was very difficult to deliver this cake, not that it was heavy but this was one of my favorite cake work till now.. departing from it was hard but at the end it was a dream come true for the little boy, he was so happy when he saw the car, he just wanted to play with it. When I told him its a cake he was moved to silence of happiness.. It made me so happy to see him so happy, he hugged me and said Thank you I love it.. Wow best time ever…What more could I ask for
.. In the party everybody loved the cake and the design, all the kids loved it… This cake was one of the best cakes ever… Dream come true..

My first Piano Cake :
My first cake was a Piano cake. It was around 11 in the night when my hubby said that his friend would like to order a cake for his wife. Since this was her first birthday celebration after their wedding he wanted it to be special. I asked him what kind of cake does he have in mind. He said anything I am not sure what she would like, I know she likes to play piano, thats it I said to him we can design a piano cake for her
.. All said and decided a week ago, the day came to bake the cake and design it. I was all excited this was my first piano cake, It looked easy but when started working on it, it was a little difficult.
Things I did – Baked an 9” x 13” Apple Cake as a layout for the piano , some butter cream icing, covered with Black Satin Ice Fondant.White fondant for the keys, and music note book, and birthday note. Some color fondant for piano player boy to go with the cake..
After few hours of carving at the end my piano turned out like this -
My first boy -
Birthday Girl loved her surprise, and I loved her smile when she saw the cake. It was worth it
– “Life is like a Piano, What you get out of it depends on how you play It”

Last night was a long night. They say if you love doing something, you forget the time. Yup it’s so true. It all started a month ago on the day when India won the World Cup. We were at our friends place where we were introduce by a common friend. I had baked an Apple cake for the event. In between the moment of India’s victory, she tasted the Cake and said to me – “ Yum I Love It. Can you please bake one for me for my Hubby’s Birthday”. Thus the story of last night began
.
Since the Birthday Boy is a big fan of cricket, his beloved wife decided to go for a famous winning bat name kookaburra Bat for the cake. Well what the heart wants , we try our best to get that
..
After a wonderful swimming class (that’s a different story
), I was all set to Bake. Lucky my hubby loves working with me. This time he had a big role to play in the making of this cake. He being a big fan of the game, was more excited to work on this project. With the knowledge of how a bat looks and feels, he was in charge of the designing part and I proudly say he did a very good job
.
We started to work on the cake by 10:00 at night. First we started with the layout. Baked a Cake, and Cooled it, and started to work on the outline of the bat first on a board.
Than worked on the cake by carving it to give the look of the bat .
Once it was all set, covered it with icing and than covered it with rolled fondant.
For the handle we tried Rice Krispies Treats mixed with marshmallow which gave a wonderful 3D effect and came out pretty well. We rolled it in a cylindrical shape and placed it in the refrigerator to cool and set.
Once it was cooled , we covered it with green rolled fondant and attached to the cake with a long tooth pick. While I was doing this, My beloved hubby was tracing all the logos and cutting out logos from the rolled fondant and coloring them with black and green.
Once the logos dried, we than set them on the cake and tadaaa we were all set
that’s when we realized What time is it ? and it was 4:00 in the morning… Wow now this is one long night
Happy Birthday Dear Anand.

Your thoughts On Mine :)
