What’s for Breakfast ?

Its 7 in the morning, after my beloved hubby leaves off to office, its me time. Before I can think of something all I am searching is my Laptop, waiting for it to reboot , waking him up from deep sleep, as soon as he is up , I just jump to the internet explorer typing www.facebook.com. I log on to my account, all I want to check is my status on FaceBook and who has what to say.

Just as I am busy browsing all the pages, & clicking on like buttons,  my friend comes online and asks me What’s for Breakfast, all I have to say is FB.. My day starts with FB, its like a world within itself. With FB time flies, so many games to play, my friend is hooked with the game City Ville, all you do is build cities. Another friend of mine is hooked with farm ville, here you grow your veggies , fruits and wait for them to sprout…and when they are done you harvest them and you earn points. With FB in front one do not find time to even feel the hunger hehe.. wow there are so many out their who are hooked on to FB like me ;) … after this article my next activity , well you guessed it right- I got to check my FB ;)

Phir Bhi Dil Hain Hindustani – Jai Hind

IMG_3797 India got its independence on 15th August 1947. In India they celebrate it with pride and honor with so many cultural events. Every year on this day we used to sit in front our televisions to see the parade happening at New Delhi. The flag hoisting, and all the different states participating in the parade bringing out there culture in the art form it was all so amazing to watch.

This year me being in states I never imagined I would get a chance to see and experience the fun of celebrating independence day. It all started 15 days prior to the independence day when I got a call from my friend , requesting me to help her in preparing one batch of kids for independence day. I was all excited and we started with the session. Everyday for an hour trying to get the kids do the steps on the song ( we selected Phir bhi dil hain hindustani) was so much fun.

Far from India, kids here don’t remember how it is back in India. With a vague imagination when i asked them do you remember anything about India, one kid said ya i remember the other no. But they were all so happy to dance and eagerly waiting to celebrate the Day..

As the days passed by , 15th august came on a Sunday morning, the weather was beautiful drizzling all day. As the evening arrived the organizers got together for setting up for the event. Its difficult to set up a show when you are away from the country. Getting all the stuff organizing, its all a big time job. But our organizers who are residents of the place pulled it out in a very efficient manner. A big applause to them :)

The event started with drawing competion for kids. Little kids from age 3 to 7, they look so cute, they draw with so much of passion. I was one of the volunteers. At the end when i was collecting back the sheets , one kid was like don’t you see I am coloring he was just 3yrs old, and from behind his dad was telling Beta give the sheet the time is up :) hehehe it was so funny and cute..

Later the event was followed by dance, Toddlers Fancy Dress Competition, song, drama by kids. I am sharing few of the videos of dance taken at that time… Enjoy …At the end we had price distribution for kids who won in drawing competion,on sports day and goody bags distributed to all kids who participated … It was so much fun..Best part was all the people enjoyed it so much even when it was raining lightly, now that’s called patriotism. :)

Where ever we stay, in or around the world .. Our heart will always Sing the song Phir Bhi Dil Hain Hindustani….:) Jai Hind…
